🎓 MEL CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Embark on a transformative journey with our Career Development Program (CDP) in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL). Our program offers three levels of professional certificates:

  1. MEL Professional (Fundamental Level-1) – Ideal for beginners
  2. Advanced MEL Professional (Advanced Level-2) – Suitable for intermediate learners
  3. Evaluation Researcher (Expert Level-3) – Tailored for advanced practitioners

🌟 AIMS OF MEL CERTIFICATION

Our MEL certification aims to:

  • Improve skills in project design and management with a focus on monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL).
  • Build rigorous research and analytical capacities related to socio-program evaluation.
  • Enhance job opportunities for MEL professionals through advanced certification.
  • Introduce and integrate data science techniques for evidence-based decision-making in the field of monitoring and evaluation.
  • Open to individuals from any sector, fostering a diverse community of MEL professionals.

🌐 OPERATIONAL STRATEGY

The MEL CDP has a structured organizational framework, including the MEL CDP Management team, Curriculum & Exam Development (CED) Board, and Authorized Training Consultants (ATC).

📚 GRADUATE PROFILES

Upon completion of the program, graduates will possess:

MEL FUNDAMENTAL LEVEL (13 courses):

  • Good understanding of the MEL work environment in project management complexity.
  • Technical know-how on setting up and maintaining an effective M&E system.
  • Ability to go through the sampling process, survey design, and data collection using modern technologies such as Kobo ToolBox, SurveyCTO, etc.
  • Ability to statistically handle missing values and calculate sample weights.
  • Hands-on skills using Excel to summarize and visualize data and statistically validate hypotheses and conclusions.
  • Hands-on skills on creating MEL Dashboards, including Google Maps, using Power BI.
  • Understanding of qualitative designs.
  • Hands-on experience in developing an operational MEL system.

MEL ADVANCED LEVEL (10 courses):

  • Knowledge and skills from the Fundamental level.
  • Statistical knowledge and skills using Stata.
  • Good understanding of statistical assumptions and different data distributions.
  • Hands-on skills related to developing regression models fitting different circumstances and conditions, adequacy checking, and interpretation.
  • Qualitative data collection and analysis using qualitative software such as NVivo.
  • Hands-on experience through an evaluation project.

EXPERT LEVEL (8 courses):

  • Knowledge and skills from Fundamental and Advanced levels.
  • Statistical knowledge and skills in using R.
  • Practical knowledge of data mining strategies to represent big data in reduced dimensions for program analysis.
  • Ability to use R for GIS and skills for spatial analysis.
  • Good understanding of data science and opportunities for leveraging big data in MEL activities.
  • Specialization in Impact Evaluation, Performance analysis, or efficiency analysis.
  • Hands-on experience through an evaluation project.
